- How to migrate a GPS platform without disrupting your fleet
How to migrate a GPS platform in a controlled way
A migration should protect service continuity and important data. The process varies depending on devices, protocols, contracts, and connected systems.
Technical and contract inventory
Identify vehicles, devices, SIM cards, accessories, protocols, contract commitments, users, and integrations.
Device classification
Determine which trackers can be reconfigured, which need a firmware update, and which should be replaced.
Data and history plan
Define exports, records, reports, and the retention period before shutting down the previous platform.
Controlled pilot
Migrate a representative group of vehicles and validate positions, events, CAN bus data, and alerts.
Phased rollout
Transition by location, vehicle type, or operating group, with defined owners and time windows.
Training and wrap-up
Set up profiles, train users, verify integrations, and document the new environment.
Tip: don't cancel your previous service until you've verified that all critical vehicles are reporting correctly and that the related processes work on the new platform.
We assess the compatibility of your installed base
We can review models, IMEIs, protocols, SIM cards, and integrations to determine what can be reused and what needs to be replaced.
